WebJan 22, 2011 · Posted January 18, 2011. Just wanted to show my new anvil purchase. It's a 400 pound Fisher made in 1901. It took a 14 hour round trip to bring it home but, it was worth it. As you can see from the pictures it is in great shape other than some knot head using the horn at some time in it's life, for a chopping block. WebOct 21, 2024 · Like Lieblad, I haven't gotten used to the crazy upswing in anvil prices. I just looked and people are asking up to $400 for a 45# Fisher. Fisher is a different company than Vulcan. They both have cast iron bodies and a steel top plate. Fisher cast the iron directly on the plate and it bonded in the casting process.
